About Lloyd
Vancouver Island Fencing came about when Lloyd, after years of experience in carpentry, decided that he wanted to focus on fencing, decks and other outdoor spaces. Having spent some of his younger years in Victoria, Lloyd ended up moving to the lower mainland. While there, Lloyd managed his own fencing and decking crew as a subcontractor for such major fencing and deck companies as Sunbury Cedar and Accurate Cedar. After nearly twenty years of building all manners of fencing and decks from custom cedar fences to chain-link fences; from building the simplest of entry way decks to the most complex of entertaining decks, Lloyd decided to return to Vancouver Island to be closer to family.
With his formal schooling in arts and design, Lloyd is able to visualize and communicate the finished outdoor space his customers are wanting. Quite quickly after starting a localized fencing and decking company to service a small area of Vancouver Island, Lloyd began receiving inquiries from all areas of the Island. Calls were coming from Victoria to Campbell River, from Port Alberni to Coombs. Lloyd and Shannice then decided to form Vancouver Island Fencing to service all customers on Vancouver Island.
About Shannice
Vancouver Island Fencing is fortunate to have Shannice as their number two lead on the crew. She found her love of construction very early after having been encouraged by her parents to pursue her trade. As a member of the Snuneymuxw First Nations, Shannice’s hometown is Nanaimo. Shannice attended the Vancouver Island University in construction and currently has a second year designation as a framing carpenter. With that schooling and more than eight years of experience, at times being the lead carpenter, Shannice has worked on a number of major projects, ranging from Nanaimo to Victoria to Courtenay. With Shannice leading the framing and finishing construction of our decks and gazebos, Vancouver Island Fencing is confident that we can provide the highest quality construction of your decks and other outdoor spaces.
